Johnbull (Formerly known as Kanewa Clothing Co. Ltd) started its business operations in 1963 in Kojima, Okayama, Japan. Initially, we were engaged in the production of work and uniform wear, and then in 1967 we created and registered the Johnbull brand with which we designed, produced and sold as Johnbull “Casual Work Wear”

In the course of our business history, we have cultivated our own manufacturing technique and business operation know-how. We have our own factory in Kojima, Okayama where the famous old Union Special sewing machines capable of sewing very thick fabric still actively work hard.

Kojima is district of the city of Kurashiki, which is located in Okayama (about 530km west of Tokyo), and is famous for being THE capital of Textiles and Jeans culture in Japan. We at Johnbull dedicate ourselves to continuously develop original fabric, cutting and sewing techniques, with professional washing and treatment skills to create unique and quality work wear.

musee is the French word for Museum and Art Gallery . This store is inspired by an atelier that is near-at-hand in a small town instead of a large modern museum. With the well-used furniture, fixtures and antique adornments that have been lovingly used throughout the ages, this place expresses a quality domain surrounded by the products from across Japan and the rest of the world that complement our original Johnbull brand. A Rugged feel that can be only seen in work wear, military wear and used clothes, which is the root of our brand, as opposed to delicacy and softness that are special to women… We introduce such new casual styles as these opposing qualities fused together to resonate with each other.

 

Cut from the concept of our captive store “Private Labo”, this new shop has a different “class (type)” from that of “Private Labo”.

The concept of this shop is “someone's room”. With a bookshelf and other pieces of furniture as well as the person's wardrobe and goods, this shop introduces a lifestyle represented by Johnbull.
